When a watchmaker as revered and renowned as Patek Philippe puts out its first entirely new collection in a quarter of a century, you can expect it to be unveiled to great fanfare. Which was exactly the case this October, when the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer launched its new Cubitus collection with a private party held at the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk, a former power station in Munich, Germany, that has since evolved into an avant‑garde space for art, culture and gastronomy. The event saw some 600 guests from all over the world, from the brand’s VIPs to select media including Tatler, in attendance to celebrate and view the first three Swiss made replica Patek Philippe Cubitus watches, which include a new complication in the brand’s portfolio.
Spanning nearly 2,000 square metres, with a ceiling height of 25 metres, the space was buzzing with luxury fake watches enthusiasts eager to see and try on the novelties. The night, enriched with musical entertainment and artistic performances as well as a feast of culinary wonders, came to a head when Thierry Stern, president of Patek Philippe, took to the stage for his opening speech and the big reveal.
The Cubitus collection was unveiled first through a video, followed by product displays in glass cases on platforms located around the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk that were previously concealed by screens. At the same time, a separate room with multiple booths opened up for guests to finally try on the new top UK replica watches.
Full circle
Patek Philippe’s decision to launch the new collection in Germany is steeped in significance. As one of its leading European markets, Germany has long been a bastion of success for the brand, where it has cultivated enduring partnerships and garnered a loyal following. In addition, the country holds historical importance in horology, being one of the cradles of watchmaking. It was also in southern Germany in the early 16th century that some of the first recorded drum copy watches online emerged. The Patek Philippe Museum has a few precious examples from this era, underscoring the region’s deep‑rooted connection to horological innovation.
The choice of Munich—which previously played host to Patek Philippe’s second Grand Exhibition, titled Kunstwerkuhr, in 2013—as the location for the Cubitus launch is the brand’s way of paying homage to this city of art and culture as well as its values of tradition and innovation, its devotion to fine workmanship and passion for aesthetics, that have similarly solidified the Genevan company’s own reputation. This blend of heritage and modernity is evident in the new Cubitus collection, and is also what makes it particularly compelling—the collection represents not just a fresh design direction, but also a bridge between Patek Philippe’s illustrious past and its future aspirations.
With Cubitus, the watchmaker presents its first square‑shaped case with rounded corners—a departure from its traditional watch silhouettes. The innovative geometry is not just visually striking; it also enhances the wholesale replica watches‘ wearability. At 45 mm, the case is substantial, but surprisingly sits comfortably on the wrist thanks to its slim profile, delivering a masculine yet elegant presence.
There are three models in the collection, each one catering to a different style and preference. A day before the official launch, Tatler was part of a small group of Southeast Asian media that had the opportunity to preview the 1:1 China super clone watches at Patek Philippe’s Munich office, where we also sat down with Stern to chat about the collection.
One of the first things that was nailed down about the Cubitus collection, Stern shared, was its name. “It’s quite funny, the name came right away,” he said. “Don’t ask me why, but I just had ‘Cubitus’ in mind. And I thought, does it work in French? Yes. Does it work in English? Yes. Then I tried it with many other languages and it seemed to work also. With many years of experience, you know what name can work and what name cannot work worldwide. And ‘Cubitus’ works worldwide.”
The most luxurious and remarkable perfect replica watches UK among the trio is the Cubitus Instantaneous Grand Date, Day and Moon Phases Ref 5822P‑001. At the heart of this platinum timepiece is the calibre 240 PS CI J LU, which features an instantaneous grand date display alongside day and moon phase indications, all changing in unison within an impressive 18 milliseconds. To achieve this, Patek Philippe engineers worked with the acclaimed calibre 240 ultra‑thin self‑winding movement as the base, adding 104 components while only increasing its height by a mere 0.77 mm.
The design includes coplanar discs (discs positioned exactly on the same plane) for the grand date—a seemingly minor detail but one that contributes to the overall sophistication of the best fake watches, as it eliminates any overlaps and maintains a seamless appearance. Additionally, the movement boasts a dual‑lever correction system that allows users to adjust the date without risking accidental double jumps or damage to the mechanism. This is one of the innovations that Patek Philippe has filed patents for. Together, these elements help to guarantee the perfect alignment of the grand date numerals at all times in the two apertures; the absence of any double jump of the tens during the change of the date from “31” to “01”, or in the event of a shock; and the ability to correct all the indications (including the time and the day) at any hour of the day without risking damage to the movement or affecting the correct display of the information.
In spite of this impressive new complication, the case maintains a slender height, standing at 9.6 mm. Within sits a blue sunburst dial adorned with horizontal relief embossing—reminiscent of the dial pattern on Patek Philippe’s Nautilus timepieces—and complemented by white gold details. Just like all other platinum top replica watches from the manufacture, this timepiece features a diamond set on the side of the case, between the lugs at the 6 o’clock position, that is baguette‑cut for the first time. The watch is secured to the wrist by a navy blue strap with cream contrasting stitching, made of an ultra‑resistant composite material embossed with a fabric motif.
Square up
Unlike the Ref 5822P‑001, the other two Cubitus creations do not come with the new complication. Instead, they are more pared‑down pieces that simply display the date and time, and have even slimmer 8.3 mm case profiles.
Fans of two‑tone Swiss online copy watches will appreciate the Cubitus Ref 5821/1AR‑001, which combines steel and rose gold for a sleek, vintage look. As with the rest of the collection, the aesthetic here is refined, with the blue sunburst dial with horizontal relief embossing paired with rose gold details, and the integrated bracelet featuring alternating polished and vertical satin‑brushed finishes. This model is equipped with the calibre 26‑330 S C, a self‑winding movement that is a variant of the base calibre 26‑330, which was introduced in 2019. It includes a stop‑seconds mechanism for precise synchronisation to within one second and several technical enhancements related to the winding system.
The last of the new introductions, the high quality replica Patek Philippe Cubitus Ref 5821/1A‑001 watches is the most minimal of the lot with its robust steel case, single‑tone bracelet and rich but somewhat muted dial colour. The olive green sunburst dial with horizontal relief embossing, though, is mesmerising, interacting beautifully with light to reveal varying shades of the earthy tone. Throw in white gold accents as well as an integrated bracelet design that ensures flexibility and strength while retaining its luxurious feel, making it suitable for various occasions, and what you get is a watch that personifies understated elegance. Like the two‑tone Ref 5821/1AR‑001, this model is powered by the calibre 26‑330 S C.
During the interview, Stern revealed that the Cubitus collection’s design journey took about four years, with an additional two years dedicated to developing the new movement. This extensive effort involved significant work and dedication from Stern and his team, which he let on was somewhat marred by the leak of a Cubitus image just days before the official launch. “It’s like when you’re preparing a Christmas gift for a loved one, you don’t want to tell them a week before, ‘You know what I bought you?’” he said. “It’s sad. You took the time to look for something and prepared your gift, so why should you tell them, ‘This is what I’m going to offer you’? But the world is like that.”
Despite the disappointing incident, Stern remains optimistic about the success of the collection. In fact, he shared that while he had seen some negative comments about Cubitus upon the leak, he was taking it all in stride. “It’s okay, it’s part of the game. You have to accept it. I’ve enough maturity, and seen enough not to panic or be sad about it,” he said, adding that “99 per cent of the people who made those comments, they’re not our customers. As for the rest, I can bet you that more than 50 per cent will order [a Cubitus].”
When it comes to the inspiration for the design, Stern revealed that he aimed to create a sporty yet classy watch. “While I didn’t initially think of the Nautilus, as we progressed in design, I was definitely inspired by it. I wanted to create something as strong as the Nautilus line, or even the Aquanaut line, but in a square shape. The square was the number one target for me,” he shared. “Square watches have been lacking in our [portfolio] and that was why I really wanted to do it. It’s a personal challenge for me also to say, ‘Well, nobody expected me to go there.’ And this is also, I think, my task: to surprise you, surprise the customer, by doing something that you don’t have any guesses about. Nobody would have bet that Patek Philippe was making a new square watch. And that’s why I really enjoyed doing it also.”
Another objective for Stern was the thinness of the fake watches for sale. “I don’t like to have very thick watches, so the target was always also to make something thinner. The shape of the original Nautilus is so thin and I enjoy it very much, so I naturally approached this design. I decided [that the Cubitus] will be the sister of Nautilus, but it has to have its own DNA and its own power. And I think it’s going to be a success, to be frank,” he enthused.
But what of the haters, you ask? “There are a lot of haters; that’s always the case,” Stern said. “But it’s not bad; that means that I did my job by surprising them. And you will see, wait a few months and the difference will be there. Once you have it on your wrist, you’ll see it’s a very cool watch to wear. As for me, I’m very happy because I’ve done something new that I’ve always wanted to do.”
With such confidence expressed in the Cubitus collection—and given that the demand for Swiss movements Patek Philippe replica watches are already much higher than the supply—will the manufacture be increasing its production to accommodate the new models? The answer, according to Stern, is no. He shared that the house will maintain a production of about 70,000 to 72,000 watches a year. “I don’t have the people and the capacity to increase the amount of my watches, and I’m also not willing to. Why should I? I prefer to be very slow. I won’t say I’ll not increase at all, but 1 per cent is enough sometimes,” he said. “We take it step by step. I have no shareholders pushing me to do more, and [if we did], quality will be affected; a lot of things will not be as [they are] today. For me, the quality of my product is my main objective. Nothing else. I’m happy with what I have, and I should be really thankful for that. If I increased production, I would have an increase in figures, yes, but so what? When I look at myself in the mirror in the morning, I’m proud of myself and my team because we’re making people happy, and we know they have a quality watch. This is the most important.”
While this launch has certainly been an eventful one for Patek Philippe, Stern said that these three new models are just the beginning of the Cubitus collection—this despite the online criticism. “There will certainly be some brothers and sisters coming in the future,” he promised. Watch this space.
